Welcome!

My wife and I were married in China.

The process was straight forward, just time consuming with several taxi rides. But we were able to finish all the steps in a matter of 3 hours.

When my wife and I decided to marry, we talked about the immigration processes we would need to do to bring her to the USA.

We did extensive research.

We found several resources, but always left with more questions as we went to other sites. We talked to people. We had conversations with attorneys and friends who had been down the same path as we were taking.

We used our relationships.

Then I found a name within my LinkedIn network. Second degree through my pastor. He’s a US immigration attorney based in Taiwan. And that following Sunday he would be in town.

We met after service. In a matter of 25 minutes or so, we had a plan. All the paperwork is submitted and completed in China.

We are fortunate.

We live in the hot bed of multi-cultural marriages; Shanghai.

When it came time to begin the process, we found that we are able to utilize the Direct Consular Filing (DCF) for an extremely speedy process. Go to the front of the line.

When the interview is scheduled we will have been married more than two years. Go straight to permanent green card.

This site has valuable information no matter which country your spouse is from.

My wife just happens to be from China. My friend, Dave brought his fiancée from the Ukraine and married her in the US. Guess what? The rules and procedures are the same. My point is that we are using procedures that are US based and the country your fiancée or spouse is from doesn’t matter.

This site will be your site.

As you know, our experience and yours will not be the same. However, many of the stops overlap.

We know we don’t have all the answers, nor do we claim to know all of them. We include a forum so that we can ask a question and receive lots of answers.

Please keep in mind that all the information on this site may not be perfect for your specific situation. The purpose of the site is to help you be better informed in a more timely manner. If I can save you time that exceeds the value of your investment, then I have achieved my goal.

We do our best to keep this information up to date and accurate. If you see something on this site that seems incorrect, please Contact Us so that we can address it.

If you choose to participate on the forums, we will not ask you to make any information public unless of course you wish to do so. Being transparent is a good thing, but not mandatory.

So, read on and learn.
